Diabetes FAQ
LET US UNDERSTAND THE DISEASE FIRST:
Diabetes is a dreaded disease of this century as Life style has changed and natural
physical walking & running is limited to just calculated minutes. Diabetes is a METABOLIC
disease where a Hormone INSULIN level goes down to weight of the body which is key to
control the BLOOD SUGAR levels. This is a disease of GLUCOSE INTOLERENCE. If this
blood sugar level is maintained high, through indisciplined food habits & less physical work
out, low levels of Insulin prevents the Blood glucose to enter the basic unit of the tissue & body
i.e. THE CELL.
Cells crave & starve then for want of sugar which is high in circulation in the blood but
because of Low levels of INSULIN hormone GLUCOSE does not have an entry in
the cell. Thus life profile is changed and you eat more, drink more water, urinate more as
typical symptoms of presentation. Lethargy, weakness, non healing wound & rapid weight
loss are other features of presentation.
Remember Diabetes is NOT CURABLE once you suffer from it.
Diabetes is only controllable and Preventable.
